FANTASIES-BEFORE-BEDTIME-
FOR-WE-DUO
The valkyries of Valhalla,
the harpies of old-Greece,
the angels of Heaven,
the ghosts of the deceased,
the goblins of Fairyland,
the merfolk of the deep.
Phantoms keep us wide-awake
and phantoms help us sleep,
and then it's dream we do
of further phantoms, me and you.
TO-THE-SNAKE-CHARMER'S-MUSIC-
SHE-DANCES-AND-UNWINDS-HER-TRESSES
A slim snaking body
and her Eastern eyes
that cast their spell,
that go mesmerise;
the girl dances slowly
to the charming tune,
empowered by the men
who came filled the room.
Shakes cobra-like she,
her dark-hair falls loose.
What man might resist?
And what mongoose?!
