TURNING-TURTLE
I'm of the opinion
of the-wise-old-race
who said that we travel
through the sea of space
on the back of a turtle.
Yes so very wise !
Don't we - in turn - carry it
when all our hopes capsize?
OUR-SHADOWY-WORLD'S-
LEGENDS-YES
Don't we know our legends well.
There is Robin Hood and William Tell.
There's Ned Kelly and Ben Hall.
Such as these sure stand so-tall
where larger shadows are seen to dwell.
LOTUS-GOLD'S-WISE-ONE
Bud, just bud, budding-beauty,
golden-lotus mid pink and blue.
Bud, just bud, for he the Buddha
gentle-flower wet with a dew
like joyous tears from houri eyes
who dance for one-so-greatly-wise.
A-SNOWY-WHITE-
ICY-HEARTED-QUEEN
Here comes the Snow-Queen.
She is a lovely-virgin-white
but with a heart of ice,
her sled pulled by a team
of dog-like men who -
desiring what they can't obtain
place about their necks the chain
that lust would bind-them-to.
A-MONIED-MOBSTER'S-MOLL
The girl is no China-doll,
more a hard-knock gangster's-moll
with a pistol in her stocking-top.
She's the type takes a ride
with charming devils, all called Clyde,
who don't know when to stop.
Poverty's not hers be it understood;
she was high-born with bad-blood.
COLD-HUSBAND'S-DEATH-
GRADUALLY-DAWNS-ON-
DRINK-IN-HAND-GIRL
She is having a stiff-one.
Yes she is having a stiff-gin.
If only on her honeymoon
rigor mortis had set in
a good time in the bedroom
might well have been had.
Now there's her husband
lying cold on a slab.
Drink-up, cheery-girl,
he's dead; find he's gone.
Like Jeffery Bernard
have more than "Just the one" !!
