for PATTAYA TRADER 133 (B)

HERE'S-TO-A-HOTEL-CHELSEA'S-
CHOSEN-FAMOUS-FEW
The Chelsea Hotel,
Cohen sure met Nico there.
They took the elevator
and climbed-up heaven's stairs.
Lenny didn't meet Dylan
for Thomas was long-before
with his pints and his poetry,
empty-bottles on the floor.
Cohen did meet Joplin
and put her in a song.
Wow, Nico and Janis;
like the hotel dead and gone.

GET-OUT-REAL-QUICK-YOU-
MIND-BLOWING-GIRL
When she and her partner come to blows
the girl inhales a powder-up-her-nose.
A damn-fast high? Get-off-on-speedy-toes !!

THE-WORDSMITH-WORDSWORTH
I hear the-poet-Wordsworth
was a guy-with-an-odd-gait
who skated like a poor cow.
Can't say I've seen a cow skate !

FAME-ABOVE-FORTUNE-IT-IS
She said "You have panache
even-if-strapped-for-cash,
and you are so-prolific.
Everybody has his price
yet you've told me more than twice -
and yes to be specific -
a poet is not worthy of the name
should he seek fortune over fame."

BROOKE-BATTLED-WITH-
CRUEL-WAR'S-DAMN-MISTAKE
Find he'd the handsome-look
of young war-poet Brooke,
and she was as pretty as the flower in her hair.
She might have been an island-girl
from the South Sea part of the world
and the bloody-war for peacetime mistook.

FLYING-IS-FISHY?
"Were men meant to fly
they'd have been born with wings."
So, were men meant to swim
they'd have been born with fins?

THE-WHISTLERING-WIND
Whistling down the ages -
like a wind through the pages
of a book on his work -
Whistler whistled down
as from a tower above a town
into the hardness of the earth.
