for MIDDLESBROUGH MAGIC SHIP 288 (A)

HER LONGING LONESOME HEART
In London, it's Liverpool Street Station
for the girl's up North destination.
At the platform the train's just stood.
Sergeant Pepper's music plays in her head.
She hears his Lonely Heat's Club Band.
Another town seems like another land.
Love has gone away, city romance ends.
She heads for home and helpful friends.
Alone in the crowds, even with London lights,
it's back to a small town's starry nights.

APOLLO ATTENDED BY THE MUSES ?
I'm a-Mused, I'm be-Mused,
to the highest degrees
as to low-down politicians,
and to which I make no Apollo-gies !

NO MORE A MAGICAL AMOUR
There is not the magic
for her anymore
since her word-wizard
walked out the door.

Gone has the guy
who spoke into her eyes
while he caressed
so softly her thighs.

Gone now has the guy
who made her spirit rise.
Gone the girl's man
and his amour.

A LIFE-TIME'S FLOWER
were we really dying
from the time we are born,
we'd not grow to kiss life's rose
nor feel its cruel thorn.

A MORN MARE RIDE
The girl is out riding
this early morn
upon a white horse
she calls a unicorn.

A sea-breeze her gold-hair
is to blow
as she chases after
a fading rainbow.

Chase that dream,
go chase that dream,
upon a horse
white as icecream.

Chase that rainbow
across the sand
till you find yourself
in fairyland.

Chase that rainbow
but, girl, be aware
that fairyland, too,
has its nightmares.
