The bluebottle-fly
I have seen
to sometimes be
a fly of green.
Like blue and green eyes
flitting left to right
on a dead mouse -
appeasing an appetite -
I saw a swarm.
The mouse an isle
that they buried
beneath their pile.
IT'S-AN-UPSTAIRS-PIPE-PLAY-NO?
She's a masterly mistress
who lives with a man,
so scotching the rumour
she is a lesbian.
And everybody inside
the neighbouring houses
will tell you that
it is she wears the trousers,
and her man a kilt.
What a crude-tune
comes to the folk -
from the pair's bedroom -
when the bagpipes
he's said to be playing.
Not a groaning, a moaning
as if into him she's laying !
