THE CUCKOO CAP
There by the garden gate
stood the birdhouse.
Find a cuckoo entered
that home to a titmouse.
The cuckoo laid her egg
in the tit's nest
from which the chick hatched,
kicked out all the rest.
Yes big bully cuckoo
kicked out the tinier tits.
Not all bullies are cuckoo,
but sometimes the cap fits.
